One wholesome child. One new world.
Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, loved, and hopeful. Through years of working closely with children, we have seen how one act of care can change a life—and how a supported child can grow to transform an entire community. At CATACRIF, this belief fuels our passion and defines our purpose.
Our journey takes us to children who are hurting, forgotten, or emotionally withdrawn as a result of abuse, neglect, or hardship. We reach out to lift them, protect them, and remind them that their lives matter. At the same time, we seek out gifted and exceptional children, helping them discover their abilities and giving them the opportunity to shine and share their talents with the world.
You can be part of this story. By standing with us, you help restore hope, unlock potential, and build a future where every child has a chance to thrive. Together, we can reach further, love deeper, and change lives—one child at a time.
By donating, you become a valued partner in our mission to reach and support vulnerable and underserved children. Your support helps provide care and protection for children facing abuse, empowers them to find their voice and regain confidence, and nurtures the talents of gifted children by unlocking their innate potential and guiding them toward a purposeful future. Together, we can create lasting change in the lives of children around the world. With your partnership, we can go faster and reach further.
CATACRIF addresses critical child welfare and protection gaps in rural and underserved communities in Nigeria, including the FCT. Field engagements reveal unsafe living conditions, lack of clean water, inadequate clothing, and recurring cases of child abuse and neglect. Many families rely on unsafe water sources, exposing children to preventable health risks as in the case of the Waru community in Apo, Abuja, Nigeria.
Through its “Dash Me a Smile” Project, CATACRIF provides essential relief items while promoting child safeguarding and referrals. However, existing resources are insufficient to meet growing needs. Funding support will enable expanded outreach and strengthened child protection interventions, contributing to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 6 (Clean Water), and SDG 16 (Child Protection and Justice).
In many communities, children are the sole survivors of violent and traumatic especially Christian genocides that claimed, and are still claiming the lives of their parents. Some witnessed these atrocities firsthand; others escaped through concealment or flight, becoming orphaned and deeply traumatized. These realities often remain hidden until reached through field interventions. CATACRIF provides immediate support within available resources, but emergency relief alone is insufficient. Additional funding is needed to deliver sustained protection, care, and long-term solutions for affected children.
We have been on the ground in Jos, Nigeria, witnessing firsthand the urgent needs of vulnerable children and families. While we remain committed to returning and expanding our support, we cannot do this work alone. We rely on the partnership and generosity of supporters like you to deliver sustainable solutions that go beyond short-term relief. The communities we serve urgently need access to clean and safe water through borehole projects, consistent provision of food and clothing, and safe, dignified shelter. For children without parental care, access to a well-managed orphanage or alternative family-based care is essential. Through careful assessment, we work to place each child in environments that best support their safety, well-being, and future. Your support helps us move from emergency aid to lasting impact—advancing SDGs
On Children’s Day 2025, CATACRIF brought joy, learning, and hope to the students of JSS Kugbo Phase 1, AMAC, FCT, a school serving vulnerable children from the local community.
The celebration included an essay competition on Child Abuse, Child Labor, and School Dropout, career guidance for JSS 3 students, and fun-filled activities. Winners received prizes and gifts, inspiring confidence and motivation among the children.
Thanks to your support, we can continue reaching children like these—helping them stay safe, dream big, and build a brighter future. Join us in making a lasting difference.
After our outreach in Apo, CATACRIF spent meaningful time at FACADO Orphanage in New Karu, Abuja, a trusted partner institution and a place many children now call home. It was a moment of connection, care, and renewed hope for the children and teenagers we met. Beyond donating food items, toiletries, and school materials, we listened to the children and stood with them.
We held open and compassionate conversations with the teenagers about staying safe, recognizing abusive situations, and knowing where and how to seek help.
These moments of guidance are often the difference between silence and survival. We also taught simple but life-changing lessons on hygiene and healthy living, while engaging caregivers and minders on the realities of child abuse, the importance of safeguarding, and how to recognize the quiet signs of a child in distress.
At CATACRIF, our hearts are set on doing more—reaching more children, protecting more lives, and restoring more hope. With your support, we can continue these vital visits and expand our impact, until every child in Nigeria grows up safe, protected, and free from harm.
CATACRIF’s team journeyed to Kogi State, Nigeria, where we reached local communities and villages with a simple but powerful mission: to give, to listen, and to restore hope. In places where resources are scarce and voices often go unheard, every act of compassion matters. During this outreach, we distributed essential items including clothing, toiletries, food supplies, and basic medical support. Beyond these materials, we created safe spaces for counselling—supporting child minders and caregivers, as well as single and vulnerable mothers who are survivors of rape or trapped in abusive relationships. We were deeply encouraged by the warmth and cooperation of community leaders, who welcomed us and provided venues for counselling sessions and seminars at no cost. With the help of dedicated volunteers who engaged households, religious centers, and marketplaces ahead of our arrival, families gathered willingly to participate in the activities. None of this would be possible without support.
